Brewers Alley George Street Maple Porter

I thought this was a nice brew. Had a good creamy body, had a sugary maple syrup taste to it, maybe some caramel.

I enjoyed this beer at the brewpub in early spring of 2009. The beer was served in a smaller, tall style glass. It had a pleasant toasty caramel malt and toffee aroma with some barley and a bit of hops. The beer had a dark brown-black color with a slightly thicker consistency, and a medium-sized tan head that head decent retention and some cling. Its flavor was sweet and malty, with a toasty effect and a bit of bitterness. The beer was on the wetter side with average carbonation and a medium mouthfeel. A solid beer that I enjoyed, one of their better specialties, but not near the top either.
