Ungstrup (11353), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 1, 2007 Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. An unclear light yellow beer with a rim of white head - surpringly lack of head for a Weizen. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of oranges and light notes of banana. The flavor starts out with very strong banana notes, but then the wheat gains in strength, and towards the end the wheat gives it a dryness, that lasts for a long time. argo0 (6229), Washington DC, USA Aug 3, 2002 Banana nose, taste. Nothing up front, but then a wheaty banana opens up onto the tongue and mildly surrounds it. Minimal aftertaste. Basically, this beer is all on the tongue -- nothing at the front, and almost nothing on the swallow. hopscotch (4577), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2002 Updated: Apr 29, 2004The apppearance is a bit on the scary side. This beer looks like a glass of tangerine juice with a heavy shot of cream. You couldn't see through this beer with the Hubble's telescope. However, the aroma is of wheat fields in heaven. Very fruity, spicy and hearty... yet, still a bit light on it's feet as a Summer beer should be. Tons...TONS of yeast in this beer (skip the protein shake and multivitamin, Superman). A very good Summer beer. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England May 24, 2007 Draught, at the brewpub, July 2006. Hazy pale orange colour. Plenty of cloves and vanilla in the aroma. The flavour still has a yeasty fruitiness but is more citric. Like other Brewers Alley beers it seemed to have a quite high level of residual sweetness but that wasn’t a problem here. Nothing spectacular but a decent, sold hefeweizen.
acrdz (4362), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 2, 2007 Pretty standard hefeweizen, hit the banana and wheat and lemon scents right. Yeasty and full in the flavor, lightly sweet, lightly sour, lightly acidic, a solid, refreshing hefeweizen, but most breweries these days make this exact same beer. Still, it’s tasty.
