Commercial Description:
This style originated in the area of Cologne, Germany. It exhibits the more desirable features of both ales and lagers. Our Kolsch is pale gold with light body and a slightly dry palate. It has a mild bitterness and delicate hop aroma. This beer is a clean and pleasant thirst quencher, which earned a Bronze Medal at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival. 4.6 - 5.0% alcohol, by volume

Brewed in the USA... Pours a golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus and grains. Taste of fruits, floral notes and bread. Mouthfeel is medium in body with a slight tart twist at the finish. Not bad for a Kolsch, Of the American styles Victory makes a really good Kolsch !!!!

Location: On tap at the Brew Pub, 9/5/09

Aroma: Mild nose, light hoppiness, fruit, grain
Appearance: Clear golden color with a thin fluffy white head
Flavor: Bit yeastier then the nose, mild hops, light fruit, nice taste
Palate: Light body, smooth, mild but nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty solid Kolsch, could have used just a bit more character (especially in the nose) to up it’s marks, but it is a really solid mild session beer, that would work well as an unoffensive, and reasonably complex, thirst quencher.

Draft at the 2009 MD Spring Fest. Filtered orange-tan color. Creamy, yeasty, this Pils taste. Quite nice fresh. There is some light fruitiness true to style. This one could actually hang in Cologne.

Draft. Poured a pale gold with a small white head. Malt, light hops, and a touch of honey in the nose. A light mouthfeel with crisp carbonation. A little lemon, malt, and a mild bitterness on the palate. Finishes very clean. A very good example of the style and probably their best beer.

Sampled at the brewery 2009 JRHB Brews Cruise. Light graininess and some earthy hop notes in the aroma. Clear dark golden with small white head. Flavor has light graininess with an earthy hop profile. Finish is slightly tart. Pretty much dead on the style.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours yellow gold with nice white head. The aroma is light malt, lemon, and angel’s food cake. The flavor is crackers, some dusty malt. It finishes with some dusty hop bitterness. Decent and refreshing.
