Some honey, lightly floral. Quiet. Touch of pear. Flavor is dryly sweet and refreshing; some grassiness and biscuty malt forming the center, wicking only lightly dry at mid palate, never quite dry enough. Lightly chewy sweet mouthfeel; sparkly and crisp. More honey and grains than dusty german bitterness most commonly; cereals, grass, starch. Refreshing mineral dryness at the very end. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a bright, slightly hazy golden-straw color; bright white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Sweet honey, toasty grains, and yellow fruit in the aroma; not as crisp and dry as one would like; some cereal. Medium mouthfeel: reasonably dry (moreso than the nose suggests), toasty grains and cereal and a touch of vanilla; a solid effort, although I would like to see more of a crisp dryness here, something a touch more drinkable. Medium finish: honey, toasty grains, and some mineral bitterness. BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2008 Golden straw color with nice one-finger head that fades to some small clumps that decorate the glass on the way down.
Slightly sweet, grainy Pils malt smells, biscuits and honey, with grassy hops notes, slight citrus impression, CO2 gas.
Nice, flavorful and dry American Pils. Pale, rich maltiness that’s almost sweet, but the hops come in just in time to balance it out and more, with a spicy hop kick on the finish. Bit of lingering astringent quality.
Full bodied Pils, a bit too strong on the carbonation, doesn’t have that creaminess a great Pils has. EithCubes (2167), Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Bottle. Aroma very sweet with musty grass. Clear golden pour with no carbonation and a soapy, quickly spent white head. Taste is somewhat sweet grain, crisper than expected, with a corn-inflected aftertaste – bread would have been better, don’t you think, boys? Just a light bitterness, slightly perfumed hops, and a light, maltier-than-water body. By no means offensive, and better than macro, but just not doing it for me. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Bottle from State Line. Hazy deep golden pour with a floral hop, spicy, and and bready pale malt nose, leading to flavors of dry, Saaz hops, crisp pale malt, and some fisnihing fruity notes. Stays rather dry but very hoppy, with a spicy, bready, sort of slight Belgian funky note accompanying the hops all the way along, and it works very well for me. ľ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. Good grassy hop nose, with sweet graIns and some sugars. Light and crisp, some grassy C-note hops up front, and more of a candy syrup in the back. Simple but tasty. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2007 golden pour small white head ok lacing. Aroma is lightly sweet a hint of floral notes some grainy textures and a touch stale. Palate is fulffy and light. Flavor is bland, bland, then maybe bland some more... light lemon nothing to it at all.. it’s not bad.. but there’s just nothing here. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Via Chuck. The beer pours to a golden body with a thin white head. The aroma reminded me of marigolds, but I can’t really tell you the last time I smelled marigolds. A flowery flavor with grainy malts. Bitter finish. The palate is bitter and boring.
