Commercial Description:
This is a cask conditioned "slow-pour" stout, which is very easy drinking and has a velvety texture, mild bitterness, and rich full roasty malt character. 4.9% alcohol, by volume (St. Patrick's Day into April).

This beer rocks. The hue is a dark crimson, not black, with a lovely, long lasting tan head. The aroma is of coffee and burnt malt. The flavor is of cocoa, mocha latte and hints of a burn in the malt. Very well balanced. Not sweet. Not bitter. Malty. Very full, velvety/buttery mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated, acrid and just a touch smoky in the finish. Excellent stout. One of my very favorite beers.

Draft at the brewery. Opaque black-brown with a patchy white head. Smooth roasty chocolate aroma. An easy drinking stout, presumably nitro-poured. Light and watery in some respects, but mossy, smooth, and impressively flavorful. Hits the spot.

Setting: Served in a sample cup at the Michael Jackson Beer Tasting held at RFD’s. Appearance: Dark, inky black topped by thick, stark ivory head. The foam recedes to a filmy layer of bubbles and a thick ring, leaving little fingers of lace on the plastic. Aroma: Aromas reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. Hints of vanilla. Some decent amounts of burnt malt, too. Flavor: Woody and grainy with a bitter black coffee and dark chocolate tastes. Overall, there’s this oddly pretzel-like quality to the taste, but it’s kind of intriguing. Palate: Very light in body, oddly so... almost watery. Overall: I grew more intrigued by this beer sip-by-sip. A pint would be welcome... a trip might be in order.

Nicely done. Great coffee/nutty aroma and a beautiful black pour. Oily mouthfeel with a full body. Quite easy to drink. A wonderful cask stout.

(cask) Beautiful on the pour with creamy beige head settling atop a dark red-black body. Aroma is roasty chococoffee. Taste is mild chococoffee, some earthy. Wonderfully smooth light-medium body, really drinkable.

Draft. Nice head left good lacing on the glass. Deep, dark color. Roasted malts and chicory in the nose. Taste was a little lighter than I expected - more medium bodied than full. Finish was a tad bitter.

Tap (cask conditioned)@Brewer’s Alley in Frederick, MD->mini pilsner glass. Pours a lasting, creamy head that exhibits spare lacing atop a black body. Smokey malt aroma. Medium body, dry and chalky taste. I enjoyed this beer considerably.
