Bottle shared at Madness. Poured a hazy golden orange with an average frothy white head. Yeasty bready aroma with notes of banana and slight pepper. Medium bodied with medium to light carbonation. No detectable pepper in the flavor and this one comes across mostly as a nice Belgian with lots of yeasty goodness and slight sweetness. Speaking of sweet Belgians what I wouldn’t give for a couple of those Belgian waffles from BCTC right now.

750ml bottle. Poured a medium and cloudy golden / yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of yeast, spices, and fruity. Tastes of spices, caramel, fruits, pepper and some candi sugar sweentess.

Bottle from SL. The pour was a huge humongo white head, great pillowy presence and retention, solid lacing. The aroma was peppery bananas, some wheat aspects. The flavor was excellent, nice tripel aspects, light yeast, some bananas, candi sugar(s), peppery, hoppy finish, really balancing things out, highly drinkable. Mouthfeel was a little airy-carbonated, but far from sticky sweet, a beer that far exceeded my expectations, not overly spiced up or peppered. How have I not made it down to Baltimore for a few more by BA?

750 ml - Chill hazed gold, massive foamy white head. Complex nose of honeyed pear and herbal vanilla that warms to a soft peppery yeastiness. Dry peppery fruit and soft vanilla flavor gains nice balance with a floral hop bitterness to round it out. Never comes across sweet. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry, spicy finish. I look forward to more in the bottle from Brewers Art. Recipe is well crafted, and Sly Fox did a nice job on the execution. Try it if you have the means….

Orange-blond with a thick, effervescent head that slowly recedes and leaves thick lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and bubblegum, a warm sugary scent as well. Hidden behind it all is a peppery spice that tickles the nose on a deep inhale. Flavor has an initial spice giving way to a belgian white sweetness but a clear and defined pepper kick in the back of the mouth in the finish and aftertaste. Wow, this is truly wonderful.

Bottle. Hazy deep gold pour with 3-finger off-white head and great lacing. Nose of candi sugar, malt, floral spicy notes, mild funky yeasty notes. Tastes spicy, with a definied dry floral presence, coupled with hopcitrus, mild funk, and some apricotty and peachy undercurrents. Lively, fizzy palate. Unique, complex, and very enjoyable.

smells spicy with a slight hint of lime. poured a big pillowy white head that kept growing and actually spilled over the side of the glass. mouthfeel was sticky,, alcohol gave a pleasant bite but not too much. malty initial taste with a tangy pepper aftertaste.

Corked and caged bottle picked up at Brewer’s Art. This is really a good looking beer. Pours a bright golden color with lots of head. In fact the head kept growing for a minute or so, eventually standing 1/2 inch over the top of the glass (Chimay goblet.) Palate cleansing carbonation remains till the end. Very nice, but faint bready aroma. The taste is only slightly sweet, with a fruity background. A light peppery note comes up in the after taste.
