Commercial Description:
Our answer to the Belgian «devil» beers (i.e. Lucifer, Duvel, etc.). Both rich and dry, this beer is all too easy to consume in large quantities. Hopped with Styrian Goldings.

Bottle sent to me by Captain Kitty and enjoyed in my Big Arse Karmeliet tulip: Nice golden hue with a fluffy head. "Voices, A Thousand, Thousand Voices... Whispering, The Time Has Passed For Choices... Golden Days Are Passing Over, Yeah"

The aroma has notes of classic Belgian yeast, bready and earthy, classic DUVAL like hop acidity and spicy vapours, and a hint of cracked winter wheat and red rye. "Howling in shadows... Living in a lunar spell... He finds his heaven... Spewing from the mouth of hell"

A wonderful balance of sweet malt and an overdose of noble and hint of PNW hop bitterness and fruity overtones. The Goldings hops really shine forward with a nice hop spice finish as well. " Your life style to me seemed so tragic...With the thrill of it all... You fooled all the people with magic... Yeah, you waited on Satan’s door".

Brilliant lively mouth feel with a drier woody finish, fits with the framework of the flavor profile."There’s no point in screaming ’Cos you won’t be heard... Now the tables have turned... It was the ultimate sin"::: Beer geeks rejoice, this is a "gimmick" beer that actually delivers, A touch more fresh hops and I would be drinking a Duval clone, brilliant!

Draught into the standard logo chalice at the brewpub. Gold with a small white head. Spicy hops and fruity yeast in the aroma. light pale malt sweetness underpins light pear flavors and a fat, spicy and herbal hop character. Finishes dry with a light lingering bitterness. Has the best name in the world. This one definitely rivals Duvel for me in that style.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A wonderful herbal malt and wild grass aroma, with a bit of Brett. In mouth, a good malt base with orange peels, vanilla. Light bodied, yet very quaffable for a strong ale. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 28 2008.

750, corked and baled. Thanks, BeachBum25! Crystal clear dark gold under a towering fluffy white head. Bubblegum nose with bits of caramel and butterscotch. Creamy medium body with lightly woolly carb. Lots of bubblegum, caramel, butterscotch, and a bit of green apple on the mid-palate. Neutral finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is yeasty with citrus, lemon, pepper and some spices. Flavor is spicy, yeasty, grainy, malty with citrus, coriander and notes of white pepper with a dry finish.

bottle from a trade with beachbum25.

pours a hazy pale golden/straw color with some yeast deposits at the very end of the bottle. some rings of lace are left from the huge rocky off white head. the aroma is quite robust... pale malts, candy/candi, straw, pears, flowers, yeast, faint skunk and some citrus/orange/tangerine. the palate is a touch sweet but not so much to make me uncomfortable... apples, pears, orange, caramel, dusty earthy yeast and a dry nearly bitter finish. there*s a pleasant acidity/crispness throughout. medium body with a soft luscious mouth feel and abundance of airy foamy carbonation (overly). 8/3/7/3/15/3.6

Enjoyed on tap at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. A very clear golden color with a smaller white head that had only modest cling and short retention. Very good and diverse aroma with mixutres of banana, orange, citurs hops, and some wheat to balance. The taste was a sweety fruity mix of banana and orange with a slight souring effect as well. It was a wet and full beer with average carbonation and a good mouthfeel. A quality beer, that I enjoyed.
