Nose is fruity and candyish with yeast notes and light floral aromas. Taste is sweet with lots of fruit, Belgian yeast, light flowers and mild hops. Body is creamy and rather light. Finishes with more fruit notes, sweet malts, some candyish notes and light flowery flavors. (7,3,7,3,13)
Adding this here for now. Draft at Max’s 72 Hour Belgian Beer Fest. This was on cask actually and was called the Speciale Resurrection. Not sure if it is different or not. Brown body. Nose is sweet malts, caramel, candi sugar and yeast. Taste is more caramel, soft cocoa, sweet malts, and candi sugar but with less yeast. Body is slick with a mild chewiness and not much carbonation, obviously. Caramel, sweet malts, light yeast and soft fruits make up the finish. (7,3,7,4,14). ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Feb 14, 2006 Outstanding domestic example of a Trappist dubbel. Pours to a beautiful, deep caramel color, with a thick, and creamy white head, and a lively carbonation. Lots of good caramel, sweet malt aroma, paired with some earthy yeast, and hints of pepper. The palate is firm, with lots of good sweet and caramel malt flavor, paired with flavors of burnt candi sugar. This beer finishes with great malt flavor up front, then ends with a mild alcohol, burn that lingers. Outstanding beer. Was a phenomenal match with the molasses BBQ beef brisket sandwich on white corn bread, and whipped sweet potatoes. A must try beer, from one of America’s greatest brewpubs. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA

Nice ruby amber hue, a slightly sticky body, fruity essence on the nose and sweet malt on the tongue. Easy & comfortable, not overbearing or immense. Still, somehow not full enough for the style to be fantastic. barbeerian (2), Baltimore, Maryland, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 6, 2006 A great beer, but don’t forget Brewer’s Art’s other selections. These brews are very different, and very good. Brewer’s Art seems different from it’s hop-heavy competition, with more emphasis on subtle flavor. Overall, a good approach... tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
