Full on butterscotch diacetyl aroma with plenty of fruity aroma. Hazy copper coloured body with a low, off white head that recedes to ring. Butterscotch flavour with grainy malts and fair bitterness. Medium body with moderate, pointy, sharp carbonation. Sampled at Kennett Square Brewfest. 2005.

Aug 14, 2008 On tap at Max’s in Baltimore. The pour was more brown than red, slightly turbid and sat beneath a decent off-white head that was borderline creamy. The aroma was lots of malt and spices. The flavor was very malt heavy with nice spice but not as much fruitiness as I like. The mouthfeel was fine, solid carbonation that added life but wasn’t in the way.

Jul 14, 2008 Nice spicy aroma with lightly sweet flavors of yeastiness, brown sugar, apples, plums, and some banana but only after the finish. Fairly crisp despite a nice maltiness. Very good beer.

Jul 3, 2008 Enjoyed on tap at Mahaffey’s in Baltimore. Thick layers of lace.Yeasty aroma including some funkiness. Some sourness. Some hops. Alcohol detected of palate.Interesting.

Jun 14, 2008 On tap at the Frisco Grille in Columbia, Maryland. Poured a very nice red color with a nice white head. Aroma was fairly sweet with a hint of fruit and malt. Flavor was a bit different though. Kind of dry, a little less sweet but with a nice twang on the back end. Good beer. A little high ABV for a session beer, but the flavor is there for sure.

May 26, 2008 I’ve had this on tap at several locations in Maryland, most recently at Out of the Fire in Easton, MD. Pours a dark amber with a light head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with a bit of fruitiness (cardamom, muscat grape, malt). Crisp on the tongue, alcohol comes through on the back end. very good brew!
