nbutler11 (305), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 12, 2008 Poured amber with a white head from the tap at the Den. Mild hops and citrus on the nose that carry into the flavor. Nothing here that distinguishes it from the run-of-the-mill IPA.
BOLTZ7555 (600), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 26, 2008 Good, well-crafted, enjoyable IPA. Nothing incredibly special or complex about this one but solid session brew. 10 karat with a burnt orange glow and a decent eggshell head. Aroma is of grapefruit and pine...and the flavor is bright, resinous, and tart. Medium mouthfeel. Beerlando (1460), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 14, 2008 Handbottle from FlacoAlto. Pours a lightly hazy, deep burnt-orange amber color. A frothy, cream colored head leaves sticky, bubbly patches of foam on the glass. The aroma shows a hefty caramel malt billing, hints of crispy fried dough, and glazed biscuit. The hop billing shows bitter grapefruit and pine, with perfumy flowers and mild spices. Flavors are well balanced, with the sharp grapefruit notes countering the toasty, sweet caramel and toffee. Pine shows strong on the finish. Medium bodied, with balanced carbonation, the finish is dry and bitter to the point of being astringent. Overall, not a bad little IPA, but it has its share of flaws. egajdzis (3086), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 10, 2008 Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, toasted dough, caramel malts, floral hops, and a bit of burnt marshmallow. Taste of bitter grapefruit, pine, light caramel, toasted dough, and a dry, bitter finish. Really solid IPA, thanks Steve! hopdog (4779), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 10, 2008 Hand bottle thanks to FlacoAlto. Poured a medium amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, and toasted caramel. Tastes of citrus, pine, and all around hoppy. Nicer bitter finish. A decent IPA that reminded me of a slightly tamer version of the IIPA I had right before it.
