michael-pollack (1598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2008 Cask in Hamden as "West Rock Stout": Aroma of hops, pine, chocolate malts, and roasting. Poured very dark brown in color with a big, dense, creamy, beige head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor of burnt malts, chocolate, roasting, and licorice. Medium body. Thin, watery, dry texture. Soft carbonation. Bitter, burnt malt finish. joebudzjoe (121), Connecticut, USA Sep 6, 2008 The most watery stout I have ever tried, but I still liked it. Clean, nice roasted flavor. Thin, but not bad, especially for their $2 happy hour pints. cazort (376), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2008 (On tap in Hamden, called "West Rock Stout") Somewhat bitter, fairly roasted. At the same itme, a bit creamy, but also a bit thin. Better than some commercial macro-brewed stouts, but less good than an average micro-brewed stout. An unpleasant sourness emerges after drinking the whole beer. Pwn3d (630), NYC, New York, USA Oct 19, 2007 Hardly a stout. More like water with charcoal roasted caramel mocha mix. absolute swill with no body what so ever. hopdog (4779), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 18, 2006 On tap at the Southport location. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of stronger roast, chocolate and coffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate with a light coffee finish.
