On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark amber with a khaki head. the aroma was lemons with some bread and cloves. The taste was clove along with a light banana note. There were also some lemon hints.

Nothing in the aroma. A wheaty beer for sure and American-style, which I don’t like. Grassy thin and too wheaty.

Spent my 11th anniversary up in the place where I got married and the wife and I decided to drop in to the brewery for lunch, where we could get some pizza and I could rate some new beer. I got the sampler order and this started it off. Aroma was practically non-existant. But after a bit of warming, I could pull off some diacytl and some slight vegetable. Nothing like an American Wheat should be, but then again..most American wheats suck. Appearance was brilliantly clear, yellow with a minimal white head. Mouthfeel was waterlike with little to no substance. Flavor was light, no real character to speak of. It too was almost like water. Nothing offensive other than the nose. If you need something cold to drink...drink water. This was closely treading on pale lager territory.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy golden color. Head was white and dissipated relatively quickly. The aroma and flavor were dominated by subdued malty caramel with a bit of citrus in the background. Slightly sweet on the tongue. Sadly, this was one of their better beers, IMO.

A barely above average hefe. Aroma is sweet with a malty background. Garnished with a lemon that was not necessary. Appearance was thick and cloudy. Mouthfeel and flavor was very nice and a smooth taste.

(Draft at brewery, 02/2006) I had ordered a Pale Ale and the server brought me the Washoe Wheat ... they must have had their taps mixed up because ordering a Washoe Weat brought what could only have been the Pale. This is a typical American Wheat Ale using a Bavarian yeast. Slight banana and clove nose -- but not overpowering. Unfiltered. Hazy but beautiful gold with nice white head. Hints of banana and clove again in the taste, but definitely tart with a good bit of the wheat coming thorugh. WARNING: served by default with lemon on the rim -- so hopefully the taps are still mislabled so they don’t polute the aroma of this decent beer with any citric acid!

This was a solid wheat beer. Nice and light and refreshing yet it still packed a decent amount of flavor. The flavor was quite fruity actually, like citrus. Very drinkable.
