Aug 14, 2005 A dark brown beer with a slightly reddish long lasting head. The aroma is roasted with strong notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet and roasted with strong notes of chocolate, as well as lesser notes of coffee.

Aug 26, 2005 Draught at the brewpub. Black, beige head. Licorice aroma. Very dry and roasty with notes of aniseed, tar and glue. Clean mouthfeel. Lingering tarry finish.

Aug 23, 2005 (On tap) Completely black beer with a handsome, creamy brown head. Lovely aroma of burned malt. A distinct taste of burned malt, but still the beer appears rather light-bodied and only moderately bitter. Some underlying weak notes of licorice and coffee. Porter may never be my favourite style, but this beer really stands out as a characterfull brew and perhaps the best from Brewpub so far. 220805
