sayravai (3037), Helsinki, Finland Apr 12, 2008 (Bottled) Very dark brown with a medium, creamy-lacy head. Slight milky sourness in the aroma with sweetish malt and roastiness. Nicely roasty, milky-sour, not burned flavor with mild bitterness, and a dry finish. Almost medium body with smooth carbonation. A balanced and enjoyable stout with pleasantly low ABV.
austone (305), Turku; Pori, Finland Jul 20, 2008 Draught @ brewpub. Almost black, small espresso head. Nice coffee, chocolate and liquorice ice-cream on the nose. Burned malty flavor, dry coffee, herbal hops. Mouthfeel is a bit too thin. Simple, but enjoyable porter. Todeon (166), Höllviken, Sweden Jul 17, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Really smokey and roasted aroma. Taste is roasted malt and some choclat and coffee. JK54B (269), Finland Jun 2, 2008 A dark brown coloured beer. LIght brown head. Strong bitterness of hops in the taste. Roasted malt and coffee aromas. A good porter. kramer (1864), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA May 28, 2008 50 cl bottle, via papsoe. Pours a dark brown body with a small tight bubbled light brown head. Nice lacing remained. The nose is pretty unique, there’s some tobacco, licorice, and maybe a touch of oxidation that accompanies the usual characters of roast and coffee. The flavor is much thinner than I’d like, there’s a watery quality to it that carries thru in all aspects. Fairly dry, with lots of roasted malt and to a lesser extent chocolate up front. Fades to a coffee and light licorice laced finish. The finish is rather short, reinforcing the watery quality of it. Overall, this was certainly drinkable, but this could us to be a little more beefed up. tarjei (1131), Bryne, Norway May 9, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Almost black color, creamy brown head.
