| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. It’s a black beer with a fingerthick, beige to tan head. Roasted, slightly peaty nose with coffee. The flavor is roasted and peaty with coffee and licorice, a little dark chocolate and some sour malt. Medium to full body, smooth and dry in the mouth. The finish is dry and roasted with a nice touch of fruity hops. I think I would like more hops evident in this one, but it’s a really nice one. (090518) OleR (2045), Oslo, Norway

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown with a big light brown head. Roasted, bit of tart aroma with a somewhat fish-like note to it at first (not that nice). As it warms, this fortunately disappears, and the aroma is now roasted with some coffee and slight chocolate notes in the background; also has an occasional whiff of vanilla. Flavour is roasted, bitter and a bit tart. Finish is roasted, bitter and dry. Not bad but nothing really interesting either. 12-11-08. trapez (794), Hilleroed, Denmark
