A dark brown beer with a slightly reddish long lasting head. The aroma is roasted with strong notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet and roasted with strong notes of chocolate, as well as lesser notes of coffee.

(On tap) Completely black beer with a handsome, creamy brown head. Lovely aroma of burned malt. A distinct taste of burned malt, but still the beer appears rather light-bodied and only moderately bitter. Some underlying weak notes of licorice and coffee. Porter may never be my favourite style, but this beer really stands out as a characterfull brew and perhaps the best from Brewpub so far. 220805

Draught at the brewpub. Black, beige head. Licorice aroma. Very dry and roasty with notes of aniseed, tar and glue. Clean mouthfeel. Lingering tarry finish.

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours deep brown with a lacing brown head. Thick malty aroma, leather, with dark toffee notes. Heavy roasted malt flavour with liqourice. Sadly only medium bodied. Citric/bitter twist to the dark notes. Good bitterness into the dark finish.

Cask @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Clear dark brown / black color with a small fizzy fair lacing light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, burnt / roasted, coffee, moderate hoppy, licorice, dark fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. A bit boring !

Draught. Roasted coffee aroma. Black colour. Small, creamy dark brown head. Roast coffee flavour and aftertaste. OK mouthfeel, even though the carbonation is a bit high.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, mediumsized brown creamy head, that leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla and some coffee. Flavour is quite sour, roasted malts, coffee vanilla and some notes of wood. Quite ok.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown coloured with a beige head. Nice aroma of liquorice and coffee with notes of dried fruits. Flavour of coffee, dried fruits and liquorice. Dry finish. Good porter.
