DruncanVeasey (1735), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Jun 26, 2008 Nuneaton ’Spoons. Shining gold with a thick creamy collar. Punchy, pithy grapefruit hop aroma. Earthy, zinging and draped in lace. Softening oaty malt late on. The kind of simplistic, brazenly grapefruity GA I’ve really missed of late. Loved it.
fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Jun 25, 2008 Cask handpump @ The Monk’s Retreat, Reading RG1, England. Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Citrus shell bitter, very refreshing. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat to soft. (040508) bobinlondon (220), Harrow, Greater London, England Jun 3, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End Harrow. Attractive rusty brown colour with off white head. Starts off malty with a following surge of hops which dies away too quickley leaving a sweet finish. Good but not outstanding. hughie (2262), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Apr 29, 2008 Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Citric hop aroma. Pleasant orange marmalade malt taste. Slight bitterness. Quite good, despite the creamy JDW head. HarryFlashman (419), Chatham, Kent, England Nov 18, 2007 Sampled at the Medway Beer Festival 2007 - Yes, I liked this hoppy little number. Hoppy, bitter and dry kind of pale ale. Very nice.
