Decent lace. Again, served beyond cold, like a light lager. The aroma had some modest roast, caramel, and light chocolate. The flavor was bitter roast and cold coffee. Flimsy, watery mouthfeel. A small improvement over the first batch, but this one still has a ways to go.

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Tap and once again poured too high so left no room for any head, still served far too cold as well. Cola brown hue with some lace. The aroma has notes of roasted barley, some debittered black malts, slight nutty and coffee vapours and raisins, a note of acidic cleaner as well. The taste is fleeting and thin. There are some mild sweet chocolate malts, nuts, coffee and fruit components but really seems to be less than you can do with a homebrew kit. The mouth feel is far too thin bodied. Arrgh, pass on this one. cexshun (82), Portage, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Draft, on tap at the brew pub. Pours a dark brown with no head at all. Color reminds me of a cola. Weak aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is dominant chocolate and coffee. Very little malt to speak of. Although the entire line of Brickworks I find lacking seriously when it comes to malt. Feels flat in the mouth. Light mouth feel. Has a ton of promise. More malt and more carbonation will easily add 1 full point to the rating.
