Commercial Description:
Our roasted chocolate and pale malts shake hands creating mild caramel flavors. Brown is your new reason to love beer. Hops are added to create the perfect balance of sweetness to hopiness. Brown is back... and it's beautiful.

Medium brown color with a thin head. Toasty caramel malts, earthy, bread, and light fruit in the aroma. Light bodied with a higher carbonation level than I would like. Caramel malts, toasty, light doughy flavor, sweet fruit, and a little chocolate. Finish has a higher hop bite than I thought was coming with a dryer than expected feel to it. It’s not bad, it’s just not the type of brown I enjoy.

On tap at 515 in Santa Cruz. Clear medium brown with a fluffy off-white head. Not much lacing, decent retention. Aroma is bready malts with a sweet citric hop tinge. Flavor is bread crusts, cocoa, light roast, and a bit of earthy hoppiness. Mouthfeel is overcarbonated and a little too thin. Comes up a bit short in every category.

Dark brown pour, with little head. smelled of malt, kinda nutty. smooth creamy mouthfeel, little bit of sweetness, get a little of the hops near the end [very little though] this is okay, nothing too special, pretty ordinary, im a much bigger fan of the English brown ales.

Amber pour with a miniscule bisque colored head. Caramel aroma with some mild fruit and even less hoppiness. Flavor was similar with even less hop presence noticable. Very mediocre.

Draught @ Bridgeport Brewing. Pours a dark amber brownish color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma with some hints of brown sugar. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty finish with some hints of caramel.

Poured a clear, dark ruby color with brown swirling through it. The head was short, off-white and failed to produce much lacing. The aroma was caramel malts, faint hops and a touch of fruitiness. The flavor followed suit with caramelly sweetness leading the charge. Not enough roasted malt or chocolate to be considered all that well balanced. Thin, easy drinking mouthfeel.
