| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2007 The beer leaves the 12 ounce bottle a brownish orange with a moderate off white head that evaporates quickly leaving a velum like covering on the glass. Nose has a black walnut like aroma, backed by sweet malt and caramel, start is malt sweet, slight tartness, with the top medium in feel. Finish has a determined acidity; the hops pleasantly spicy, dry aftertaste clings to the palate. Brown ales have been one of my favorite styles, since I sampled my first Newcastle Brown Ale, many years ago, a style I think over looked by many. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2007 From a 12-ounce bottle. Pours a frothy amber color with slight tan head. Medium-bodied, with a very full mouthfeel. Early even dry/sweet malty flavor balance leads to a dry finish. Little hops presence. Clean, but a bit over-carbonated. superflashgo (9), Vancouver, Washington, USA does not count | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 12, 2007 This just looks and smells like an ok brown ale, but the warm caramelly malt flavor of this beer time and again keeps me ordering a second glass instead of trying something else. Not an exceptional beer, but caramel is my favorite sweet so this beer is my standard at Bridgeport!
