Simple malt aromas. Taste is equivalently uninspiring, as is mouthfeel. A good beer that suffers in comparison to exceptional peers. Probably won’t buy any more of this. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 6, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (nuts, caramel, toasted bread), lightly hoppy (herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clearly made for carefree easy-drinking. A basic, cookie-cutter rendition. Nothing wrong, but nothing much of interest either. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Nice brown color with small head. Aroma of roasted malt, flavor much the same, except I picked up a light bourbon barrel hint, body was rather watery. Like most brown ales, I guess that is why I’m never a big fan of this style. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2007 A pretty good brown. Very roasty and malty sweetness with light hops. Medium body. Not so much nutty as roasted stout character with more malt sweetness.
