Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is black with a smallish tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and and some hop bitterness. Taste is right on with nose, nice medium bodied roastiness with a bright hop bitterness in the finish. Decent stout.

9-30-07 bottle. Smells like cleaning supplies that public schools use to clean up children’s vomit in the hallways (vomit which consists of nothing but almonds and bile). Tasteless and not fresh at all.

(bottle): Pours a dark inky black color. Tannish brown head, smallish, somewhat lasting. Very coffee, dark chocolately aroma. Bitter chocolate coffee taste. Some roasted taste. Not too watery. Okay.

bottle. pours a see through black body with an A&W type head that rings the glass. a bit of coffee & tea in the nose with some milk hints. wow, it’s been a while since i had a stout, not imperial, not extra coffee weasel poo with french oak that was submerged in tequila 33 1/3 rd days, just a good old stout & this is one. slightly on the sweet side with a good roast backbone some sugary carmale in there too. just a touch of chocolate to it and it lingers, damn, i’m glad i bought this. 3 7 7 5 16

Basically black pour with a big tan head and an overly sweet smell to it. Some light smooth roast malt smells as well. Taste was creamy, overly sweet, metallic, and not enough roasted character. Perhaps the bottle was a bit old, but I didn’t see much to go back for aside from the nice appearance and mouthfeel. Cloying, and didn’t have and roasty bitterness to balance it.
