Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

Are you kidding, black strap molasses?...hell yes! This is a great try for a stout. Pours dark brownish-black with tan head...had 2 fingers worth. Taste the roasted, coffee, sweet, cream was around mouth. All-spice? Not a Guinness stout, afraid to go dark, start w/ this...will not leave you filling "full"...great desert beer w/ choc or bread pudding.

A very disappointingly average stout. Dark, opaque red with a decent sized tan head. Not much aroma to speak of apart from a very faint coffee. Flavor is about what you’d expect from a stout (coffee, a bit of dark chocolate), but very subdued. As it warmed it became a bit more complex with alcohol and a faint sweetness becoming more prevalent but overall quite uninteresting.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small but lasting tan head. Has a very strong aroma of chocolate and spice with hints of roasted malt. Laces that stays while tastes of chocolate and a nutty dry finish. a decent stout.

Pours a deep, dark brown, dark lasting head. Aroma is all malt, rich, dark chocolate, that sweet molasses they speak of; great. However, looks & aromas can be deceiving, and in this case gave way to a palate that was far too light-bodied and thin for my liking. Surprising (and not in a good way) bitterness throughout, and a quick, sweet finish that leaves one wondering where the flavor and complexity is. Disappointing.

Tastes smokey, coffee, chocolate, hoppy. Not a bad stout. It was very sweet, which I appreciate. Rich, ingredients were put into this beer.

Pours a nice thick dark brown, with a good tan foamy head that diminishes down to a thin covering. Hints of licorice an chocolate in the nose. Notes of baker’s chocolate and roasted grains make it very enjoyable, but n over carbonated, acidy finish kind of sours it for me. Otherwise not bad.

A very good, but easy-going stout which is just ever so slightly lacking some malty fullness. However, this is a great beer: tastes great and goes down easy. A good "everyday" beer.

Not bad stuff. Too much carbonation for a stout in my opinion, but the flavor is there. Dark pour, not much of a head in my pint glass, but others say otherwise. Good stuff, reccomended.
