Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a large beig head. Moderate lacing. Nose of coffee and malt, some roastiness. Taste is roasted malt and a cocoa sweetness, the coffee is less prevalent here. A bittersweet baker’s chocolate lingers in the finish. Soft and creamy mouthful.

Thank you Tom/After4ever for this nice one! It’s black/brown with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and sweet coffee. The flavour is mild and slightly sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, coffee and a bit of chocolate and a light bitter finish. It’s a nice stout, that could have had a bit more body, thinking of the 6%. 1955

An almost black pour with a slight tan head and lacing. An aroma of slightly burnt toast and coffee. A flavor of strong coffee with a hint of choco to it an excellent bitter that hangs with you for a while. Mouth feel is solid and smooth just a slight bit of carbonation over my limit. A dry stout this is but it seems to have a thickness in the end that tries to be sweet. I better close before I talk myself into giving it a few more points. Solid beer

Pours dark brown to black, with a lasting, tan head. Nose is mostly roasted malt and chocolate. The body is molasses layered with chocolate, espresso, and burnt nuts. The finish is just a bit bitter, which keeps the sweetness in check. Good, not memorable.

From notes. Thanks to bditty187 for the bottle. Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a thin head that fades quickly to a thin soapy cap. The lacing is a bit spotty, but more than I was expecting with so little foam left. Smell; it’s a little sweet at first with some molasses and chocolate, but then it fades into a bit of a coffee aroma. As a matter of fact, the more this warms, the more roasted the aroma becomes. Taste; the molasses is even more evident in the flavor than it was in the aroma. It even seems to override any chocolate flavors that may be in there. The roasted coffee and malts are not quite as pronounced as I would have liked either, but they are present. Mouthfeel/Drinkability; mouthfeel is medium bodied and very smooth with the low carbonation, and the drinkability is really good. I didn’t really expect to like this beer at all, but it’s actually pretty decent, and would be a fairly regular with friends if it were available here.

Bottle...Poured a deep black with a scrumptious looking light brown head. Apparent aroma of malt, leafs and brown sugar. Smooth, soft, light carbonated palate with flavors of malt, chocolate, lettuce, and a bit nutty... balanced nicely by mild hops this beer finishes creamy, and quick. This is a phenomenal brew. One of my new favorite stouts.

Black pour, with a thin head and soapy lace. This has a very sweet, malty nose with a hint of dark esters. Predominately dry, but this does have a slight sweetness with some roasts, dark fruits and dark chocolate. The finish contains a decently roasted bitterness. It’s nicely hopped on the back palate, leaving a roasted chocolate effervescence. Unfortunately, the mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, referring to overcarbonation instead of a creamy palate. For all intents and purposes, it seems to have the right ingredients, but misses out somewhat on the overall package.
