Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

A dark brown beer w/ thick brown head. Aroma is sweet w/ roast malt, notes of fruit. Flavor is a nice mix of chocolate with hops. Finish is slightly dry. A very nice beer.

Thin, quickly diminishing brown head. Pours black with minimal lacing. Aromas of chocalate, molasses, and maybe something fruity. Duration of flavor seemed short relative to other stouts, coffee and chocalate flavors. Somewhat thin on palate.

Another really good beer from bridgeport. It’s surprising to find a brewwery of this size with such broad distribution that has a stout and a bitter of such high quality. I will say that this stout was pretty sweet and fruity for a so-called "dry stout." But I guess that’s not really a complaint. I like sweeter stouts better.

Very pleasant aroma-walnut,plum,dark chocolate. Smokey earthy flavor and fig/roasted malt notes. Thin body though the finish is lingering and smooth.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Almost black in colour with a reddish tint and a beige head. Rather roasted aroma with a coffeeish touch. Medium-bodied with some roasted malt and a lightly burned edge. Somewhat fruity still - odd for a Stout. Dry finish. Overall a pleasant experience. 220406
