| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2005 The thin, coffee-foam colored head pulled a quick disappearing act. Poured like brownish black cream, and reminded me of a black velvet painting. Roasty aroma with hints of chocolate malts. Deep and complex flavor...slightly astringent at first, finished crisp with a toasty roasty after taste.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 23, 2005 A very nice smooth dark stout beer. It’s tastes a little like a chocolate flavor. Very good beer. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2005 Clear but dark. Brown/amber to black. No head. The aroma holds nuts, wood, molasses and ashy hints of chocolate. The flavor has unsweet coco and some licorice like roots. There is also some molasses. The entire thing is well blended and enjoyable. Full, semi-dry body. Satisfying. A nice stout. aenimopiate (146), The United States of Texas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2005 I hate the fact that this is a decent stout, yet it has no head to speak of. As I sit here and look at my beer, I shed a tear for the missing beauty that I experience with other stouts in the form of the lacey head that lasts for the entirety of the drink. Besides the asthetic dissappointment, this beer is pretty good. I like the dark colour, and the flavour is filled with hints of aromatic herbs and subtle hints of coffee. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2005 bottle. Pours a sturdy opaque black with no real head. It’s got a bland roasted malt aroma with a far-off sweetness. The flavor is a little sweet with a faint vanilla taste and fades to a pretty dry finish with some chocolate hidden in the back. There’s a good amount of roast occurring throughout. tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Bottle. Pours opaque black with just a tinge of orange at the extremities and a thin, tan head. The aroma is kind of a roasty molasses. At first I taste roasty malt, then the sweetness of the molasses comes in strongly. Then the hops kick in and balance it out, giving a dry, hoppy, bitter finish that lasts quite some time. alabamajohn (67), Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2005 Bottle. Nice clingy brown head. Smells like toasted bread and chocolate. Smooth with a dry finish, but the flavor will not knock you off you feet.
