Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

Looks like a stout should. Head is rather bland. This is suprisingly sweet but it certainly isn’t bad. The finish is dry buty light enough to make this an easily drinkable beer.

A little light and a touch roasty. Very enjoyable. About the same thickness as a Guinnes, with a lingering beige head. Lightly sweet. Nice.

Good, menacing, dark fruity aroma, good looking beer, bottle and label. Tangy, tart, a bit creosote astringent, faintly sweet. Long nutty char finish. Medium bodied. A good brew, more complex that I’ve noted here.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark brown with garnet highlights and little to no head. Aroma is roasty sweet with coffee and bitter chocolate notes. Flavor is good, sweet and smooth with an herby bitterness in the finish. Full, round mouthfeel and little carbonation. Not bad.

Pours black with a thin off white head. Subtle chocolate smell with a more noticeable bitter coffee smell. Subtle taste for a stout, tastes like it smells. Subtle average aftertaste and feel.

Pours a little slim for a stout but makes up for it in the flavor... Very reminsicent of the Aecht Smoked-- almost an eerie relationship... VERY good stout; reminds me of a good smoked porter. Grab one if you can... I’m serious!

It has taken me a couple to form an opinion: Looks great, good aroma, hoppy American Dry Stout. The only thing that bugs me is a metallic aftertaste that is very pronounced when colder, when almost room temp, it seems to go away. Still very enjoyable.

Pours black with not much head and no lacing. Caramel, chocolate, and vanilla in the nose. Smooth malty chocolate and caramel flavor with nice hop bite to balance things out. Nice stout but not one of my favorites.
