Deep, dark black with a light tan head that was initially quite huge but is now a thin layer of foam. Decent stouty molasses smell but it is way down there. Easy flavor, no roast, malty, no molasses, hops? This is a good beer for the money but not my favorite stout by any means.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 26, 2008 12 oz. Opaque with a creamy quarter-inch head that endures and frosts the glass. Big molasses, coffee and marshmallow aromas. Flavor is similar, but subdued well by some nice hickory char and additional coffee. Medium body is super-creamy smooth and pleasantly dry, with a very drinkable balance between sticky vs. watery mouthfeel. This one was a very pleasant surprise.
