Commercial Description:
A healthy dose of Northwest hops balances the sweetness of black strap molasses to make this a velvet-rich, creamy descendent of the great Irish stouts. A real treat for those who crave the dark side of brewing.

The aroma is what I wanted it’s got molasses, hops, roasted malt, and coffee. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth but thin. Overall it’s decent.

Pours very dark, good taste but not great. Palate is overall smooth but there is a bit of carbonation in this stout. Not my favorite stout but an overall good tasting brew.

Been wanting to try this for some time now. Pours dark brown, almost black with small head. Aroam was nice with choclate, coffee, and maple. The taste was a nice balance of those flavors with light sweetness and light fizziness in the finish. Light to medium body.

Earthy carmelly malts, molasses butterscotch, toffee, vanilla. Slightly smokey, cola aroma. Dry grass, burnt marshmellow sweet roasted malts. Some lighter fruity notes (banana, cherries), and a rubbing-alchohol burn. Minor hops comes through the darkness as well. Hickcory smoke up front. Darkly roasted barley + molasses dominate. Notes of dark coffee, licorice, cocoa. Sweet fruits noted in aroma are subdued, bananas and chocolate ice cream describes it. Enough citric hops comes in near finish to keep it dry. Not enough bubbly, palate overdone with malty thickness. Slight tang that reminds me of dried cherries. Nice dry finish with slight stickiness. This Stout has a unique floral freshness to it that I dig, probably due to the generous (for this style) hops. The flavor didn’t meet the expectations I got from the excellent aroma, but still a noteworthy stout.

It’s fitting for the name. Vey rich in molasses aroma and flavor. it’s nice and black with a dark tan head. A wonderful stout. Kinda rough on the palate though.

Pours an opaque black colour with well integrated hops, lots of syrupy aroma, big full body, thick head, and a nice caramel finish, sort of malty mid palate, really smooth stout, a not too rich

Bottle @ home. Pours a dark brown body with some deep amber around the edges when held up to the light and a small creamy off-white head. The aroma has some sweetness slightly yeasty as well as oatmeal and cereal components, sugary malts and cocoa. A fruity nutty finish which is slightly bitter. The mouth feel is medium thick. Average stout.

Pours black with a small tan head that lasts a few minutes. Excellent lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt and watery darker malt. and a little hops too. Flavor is exceptionally biller and potent witth malt undertones. It almost tastes strongly alcoholic een though it’s not. Texture is .edium light. Finish is mildly malty and strong bitter.
