shendrix (435), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 26, 2008 A passable IPA, with a palate of spring water, the slightest bit of honey, and grassy hops.
dkoonce (750), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear amber, with a thick cream colored head. Rich malt aroma, with slight raw grain note, Dry, with a raw flavor that is not unpalatable. Very little hop note. Biddle_Brau (128), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 21, 2008 Golden with off-white head leaving lacing. Faint malt aroma. Slight hop bite but disappaites, minimal malt profile, slightly creamy. Nothing outstanding but a clean finish
HoppyGuy (92), USA Jul 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a three-quarters inch beige head that hangs around for a while. Aroma is a bit faint, and is of hops and floral hints. Flavor is not very hoppy at all, yet not too malty. Fruity flavor, some citrus. Overall, not a bad beer, but not bold (hoppy) enough to be classified as a pale ale, at least for me. Still, I like it. I’d like to pair this brew with shrimp scampi, garlic mashed potatoes and a spinach salad. DuffMan (1915), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jul 13, 2008 So who ripped off who with the blue heron pale ale idea-- Mendocino or Bridgeport? Hardly matters anyway. This pours a handsome bright orange amber, slightly hazy. Sweet caramel and apricot fruit in the aroma. Caramel, some apricot fruit, and a vegetal quality to the finish. Moderately bitter, light/medium bodied. SuzyGreenberg (900), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 10, 2008 12 oz. bottle - pours crystal clear and orange gold; spotty white head; grainy and watery; flavor and aromas lacking; pretty awful across the board
