Tasting at Papsoe
Hazy red-dark amber color; small creamy head. Creamy (milky) caramel aroma, nice. Strong caramel flavor, some chocolate malt, strong bitterness, roasted nuts character, some hop resins but less American-type hopping than usual, which makes of it an original one, at least, since it´s not the best. Strong ending bitterness.

medium body, slick feel, lively carbonation, mild bitterness on the finish flavor is luscious, full of burnt toast, a fair bit of caramel sweetness in the tail end. some kind of citrusy fruit in there, balanced against a bitter finish aroma is mildly floral, with a sweet and alcohol punch deep ruby appearance, clear as day, with a dense creamy white head that falls fairly quick.. leaves spotty head goodness all along the glass A very excellent beer!

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with a diminished off-white head. Mild wineous and spiced hoppy with a dark and mild roasted malty base note. Bitter and slight spiced flavoured with a solid caramel malty and dense hoppy note. Ends malty and slight spiced.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of gunhaver. Hazy amber golden with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of wood, caramel, alcohol and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied with notes of fruit, caramel and wood. The finish is rather raw and unrefined bitter with quite some alcohol. 311008

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of alcohol, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and fruit, leading to a drywoody and alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle. [Tasting session @ Papsoe, 31-10-2008] Average fine bubbled off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Hazy dark amber color. Aroma of heavy malt profile, alcohol, fruit, Bourbon. Over the palate came nutty, caramel, alcohol, fruit, wood. Quite full bodied with an average carbonation and alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet with good counter bitterness. Solid malty and warming alcoholic texture.

Bottle shared by Crosling, thanks dude. Poured a deep garnet-brown color with a moderate beige head that faded to a layer that left a bit of spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet malts with some light caramel and some moderate fruitiness including some red apple and light plum, a hint of spicy bourbon and oak with a soft vanilla character. Lightly spicy, smooth entry leads into a caramel maltiness transitions into a moderate bourbon spiciness with some hints of vanilla and finishes with a moderate earthy hoppiness. Full on the palate with moderate carbonation and a nice oak bite.

Ruby maroon colored beer with a creamy, light tan, well lasting foam. Nose has some nice elements of wood barrel (coconut, vanilla, wood), along with some components from the malt, like sherry and dark fruit. Not a great nose, but at least is has some describable elements. Flavorwise, it’s a simplistic beer, without complexity. Light notes of caramel, dark fruit and toffee. A decent ale, but lacking seriousness.
