| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Had this beer on 1/17/2006. Aroma is a sweet roasted malt scent. Color is deep amber with very good carbonation and a nice thick head. Taste is crisp and bitter. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down crisp with a fizzy feel. Finish is mild malt flavor that comes across with a dry feel and ends with a mild hop flavor and bright bitterness. Its not as rich as I like a Winter brew, but it is very drinkable. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Pours a clear, but very dark ruby with a light tan head. Nose is light with a hoppy tone . Flavor is smooth. Slight bitter tone. Strong presence of hops, but nowhere near overpowering. Caramel. Very slight nut character. Overall, a decently complex flavor ride. Feel is good. Not overly syrupy like a lot of other winter warmers tend to be. Good bubble on it too. Very drinkable. Someone could drink a lot of these in a night if they wanted to. Would I? Probably not. It’s good, but it just doesn’t grab me as others have. mullet (798), Melbourne, Australia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2007 Buckets of crystal malt and booze in the aroma, fruit cake, sultanas and very faint US hops? Basically it’s hollow crystal malt flavour and not much else. It really disappears on the palate. Pretty ordinary stuff which is a shame because the Jubelale got me a bit fired up about this one. It wouldn’t surprise me if I was told this one was an Australian beer actually. a10555 (125), West Chester, Ohio, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2007 120z bottle. Clear and honey amber. Cocoa and raisins in the nose with a touch of soapy hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Cola-ish lively flavor. Notes of citrus and tart cherries. Long sticky and bitter. The smooth malts are balanced with the bitter spicy hops. Slight short lived smokey flavor. rmussman (905), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 3, 2007 A nice winter brew. Very flavorful and dark. One is enough as it can get hard to drink. Worth a try but nothing special. There are many better Oregon beers. JCB (1765), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 27, 2007 12oz bottle from Jake65 - thanks! A decent winter warmer. Nice copper to brown color, with a decent body. A fairly pleasant character - with figs, chocolate, the usual flavors associated with the style - with modest malts. Solid enough, but not much personality.
