A true Winter Warmer made in homage of the season: Full-bodied and rich, deep amber in color, crowned with a creamy head, and finished with a mild bitter flush.

Dark brown haze, thin disipating head. Nutty, malty caramel aroma with a hint of vanilla and alcohol. Rather thin in body. Weak flavors of cocoa, alcohol some fruit. Muddy, slightly astringent finish. Not too good.

Bronze and clear with thick head. Too much head in fact. This bottle conditioned ale was way over carbonated. Like cheap champagne or soda pop. After the first one I poured a new one and stirred it to get the carbonation out so I could taste it. Toasted grain, heavily hopped with a citrus flavor that lingers, almost tart after-taste. Not unpleasant.

A sweet malt darkness accompanied by a earthy hoppiness and holiday spice. Deep mahogany body moderately carbonated, and a tan off-white thick head.

Nice brown color, small tan head that had a short hangtime then faded to leave little behind. The aroma was roasty and chocolate with some hints of fruit coming through. The flavor was better then i was expecting, nice fruity side with a bit of maltiness and slight hop showing. Some light chocolate notes appear when the brew warms up more and the fruit comes out much better.Very nice brew and easy to drink well worth trying again.

GABF 05. The lady who served this to me was a hottie. Meeeeooooow! Pours brown with little head and an aroma of spicy malt. A nice malt flavor with a sour finish. Coating palate. Nice brew from a nice brewery.

Deep clear red in color with a creay head. I was lucky enough to have this wonderfu brew on tap. Has an expresso after thought that makes this complex beer begging you to drink more of it. I enjoyed this so much that I bought a growler to take back with me, but it did survive being left alone in a hotel room with me and an empty pint glass. Very nice beer

Bottle Conditioned - Surprising good winter ale. Pours a burnt ruby read. Great head, great lacing. I probably drank it a few degrees too cold. So I started off good, and got better. Taste is somewhat complex. bittersweet chocolate, leather, peach, and maybe a few tiny notes of cherry. a perfect mix of not being overbaring, but not being boring either. Lots of different tastes going on, but none of them overpower your tasebuds. It had more carbonation than I expected, but still maintained a good palet. Good Brew

Bottled and enjoyed in my Ratebeer tulip:

Poured a rich ruddy brown hue with a mostly fading frothy head and did leave behind some lacing, some small floaties. The aroma has notes of caramel and chocolate malting, boyenberry and pear, floral hops, and aromatic pipe tobacco. The taste was a bit surprising but in a good way with the initial sweet and mocha flavor followed by a hit of acidic fruit and piney bitter. I expected it to be more traditional after the nose. A hint of sweet spice and earthiness appears on the finish. The feel is smooth yet not boring, could still be a bit heavier considering what it suppose to be. All in all, I was digging this beer more than I would have thought. It is not really a holiday offering or an English Strong for that matter, but solid and quaffable.
