| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Pours a deep brown with a nice brown head. tastes of malts and spices, most notably nutmeg, and cloves. wish there was more of a hop presence though. my least favorite of the winter warmers this season. killjoy966 (220), Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Left over from my winter warmer binge. Tastes a little thin and watery. I like the hops, not too overpowering, but there isn’t too much else there. Not bad, but I like their IPA better. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA

Pours amber with tan head.
Aroma of fresh piney hops with light presence of caramel malts as well as winter spices.
Taste of floral hops and spices with notes of fruits - pineapple / grapefruit - malty with notes of caramel.
Not too complex, easy to drink, overall feel was rather disappointing.. FlagstoneHill (211), Erie, Colorado, USA

Thin malty aromas of deep carmel. no hops, some figgy esters.
Deep browm, some ruby highlights, lots of bubbles visible, smallish off-white head with good retention.
Malt dominates the flavor - rich and carmelly. Some hop bitterness, but no flavor. Some spice (cinnamon) in the aftertaste. Somewhat oxidized and the flavor is overall quite thin.
Medium body, high carbonation. No astringency, slightly creamy/coating
This could be quite good, but it’s oxidized which, I think thins everything out considerably. will have to try again. BlackForestCO (827), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Bottle. Poured a deep chestnut brown color with some red highlights and a thick, dense off-white head that slowly receded and left a little lacing. Aroma of caramel, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg), some toffee, and a hint of hops. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with a bit of caramel/toffee leads into a somewhat harsh minerally taste that transitions into a light hoppiness with undertones of spices, similar to those in the nose. Moderation carbonation, decent mouthfeel. Decent beer, but not something I will seek out again. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Dark hazy amber with a modest head and fair lacings. Aroma is some caramel.
Taste is spicey dark malts with a good bitter hop finish. Some gingerbread, leather, cinnamon, and a bit of pepper.
Decent winter warmer from a style I am done with for this year. Better than average.
