Aromas of apple cider, apricot, banana mild herbal spruce note, hint of piney hops. Carmel bready malts. Flavor is medium roasted malt, black bread, molasses. Along with apricot, dark fruits (cherry, plum) Ample hops, but not something that stands out as much of highlight. Easygoing palate, overcarbed,

APPEARANCE: Dark amber, with a white head. AROMA: Caramel, apple, spruce FLAVOR: Good balance, Caramel sweetness upfront with spruce and spicey character showing up later to bring an appropriate bitterness to the mix. Aftertaste of biscuit and slight hops. PALATE: Nice feel, a good solid beer. Not watery or thin. OVERALL IMPRESSION: This is a beer with big flavor, but still it is smooth and drinks rather easily. I recommend this one. Serving type: bottle

This is a tasty, albeit thin and restrained Winter ale. I have had this several times, and each time I think how great this would be if it was a little less thin, and perhaps maltier. At any rate, this is pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a 2 finger off white head that leaves ok lacing. Nose is sweet dark fruits, brown sugar and malt. Taste is dark fruits, toffee and some roasted malt with a touch of bitter hops in the finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent seasonal.

Pours a warm amber color from the bottle with a creamy off white head. Smells and tastes of dried citrus, mild hops, and malt. Not particularly ambitious, but balancedand highly drinkable.

Great bottle. It makes the beer look enticing. The taste, however, is fairly basic for this style. Light, but nothing beyond the ordinary.

Pours a beautiful dark ruby red with a perfect full creamy head. Aroma is somewhat weak. Sour malt and a slight bitterness. Mashed together flavors, some malt flavors, a bit earthy. Some sharpness but mostly mild in flavor and feel.

Dark brown pour with a big white head. I had not had this beer in several years and was very surprised to find it better than I remembered it being. Big fruit and roasty flavor with a bitter finish and some hop action towards the end as well. Quite enjoyable.
