Bottle-poured into a Trappist glass. Very nice lacing with a lasting head. Clove/Pine flavors give a real spicy, ’Christmas ’ feeling. Excellent seasonal brew. Recently snatched a sixer of these and numerous other goodies out for friends and familar during New Year’s last night and everyone commented highly on Ebenezer, even those who generally don’t drink craft styled brews.
This rich and extremely full bodied ale pours very well and delivers a very nice woft of sweet malty aroma. Gives off a decent sized, long lasting head with good lacing.
A rich and sweet tasting ale that delivers hints of toffee, caramel, and a hint of spiciness. I enjoyed this both as an afternoon warming drink as well as an after dinner teaser to go along with some left over Xmas cake. A double duty brew that’s worth taking a closer look at when the opportunity arises.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Aroma is quite strong, mainly spicy and slightly sweet, and has an evergreen component making it smell somewhat like a good IPA. It pours a dark, somewhat hazy, warm mahogany with a fairly thick off-white head. Spicy, malty flavor has a decided hoppy undertone and is a little sweet and a little bitter. Texture is fizzy and zingy, yet smooth and slick. Happy whatever-you-celebrate-this-time-of-year! Gromit (463), Port Orchard, Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2003 Pours a very redish-brown color with a very hardy head that leaves a nice lace down the glass.
Scent is purely malt, though nice.
Taste is quite nice. Malt is the most obvious presence, but there's a bit of spice and fruit hanging around. Quite nice; it holds its own in the winter beer arena. And I must say from previous experience that this beer is even better on tap.
Palate is appropriately full and creamy, though it could use a bit of a hop bite for a finish. Overall this is a very good offering, and a good representation of a winter beer.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2002 Kind of fruity, banana like esters, strong body and good aftertaste. The flavor hangs around mid-tongue as the carbonation rolls off the tongue. Slightly dry but well built. It is also a beautiful shade of red with a mild carbonation and minimal yet lasting head. Indeed it does warm those winter nights. Or maybe it is just the woodstove I am leaning on. This makes any Ebeneezer smile. PieTaster (32), Humpton, California, USA
