The flavor was pleasantly suprising...a bit on the hoppy side for the style but a well engineered balance of malts (and Goldings) with nothing unpleasant. Smooth in mouth with a crisp finish. A bit of hop bite lingers on the tongue. Hmmm...must head to fridge and get another. Soonah (931), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2007 Pour was a slightly cloudy light copper color with a near two-finger white head. The head hung around for a bit and offered a bit of lacing. The aroma was hoppy, slightly grassy with a touch of spice. The flavor wasn’t all that well balanced as mostly hops came through. Didn’t think it had enough malt and spice up front before the hops took over. Nice clean finish. A decent brew. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA

This is a very fine mouthful of beer. It has a full sweet malt middle balanced by the proper amount of hop bite on the end. Mouthfeel can only be described as "silky". This is an absolutely beutiful beer and on of my absolute faves. This is an excellent ESB, unfortunately recently reviewed by several illiterates. HopDevil1979 (117), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Nice amount of hops and candy aftertaste, not unlike Now and Laters of Good N Plenys. Goes down very smooth. This is pretty hoppy, but that’s fine with me! Nicely done.
