Aroma has some mild pine and floral hoppy notes on top of toasty caramel malt. Starts with a subtle, dry earthy maltiness with a more bitter, sticky finish. Very true to style and enjoyable. oldrtybastrd (1823), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

Not overly bitter, but pleasant enough. However, I was expecting a much better result, so somewhat disappointed but it was OK. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Pours amber and crystal clear. White head that fades quickly. Looks delicious. Spicey aroma, but I think they "cheated" and used some American hops as I note a bit of citrus in nose and flavor. Low carbonation, feels heavy in the mouth. Generous portion of Goldings gives a spicey, slightly earthy flavor. Plenty of malt backbone to balance it out. Flavor fades quickly. I’ll probably get this again when I’m in an ESB mood. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Medium amber and orange body with a white head. The aroma was caramel with some iced yea and apples. The taste was also iced tea with earthy apple cores and some almonds. The mouthfeel is crisp. Nothing exciting here and not a stand out as an ESB. flatkitty (10), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 21, 2005 A wonderful ESB. Second maybe only to Fullers, out of London. Never would have guessed this beer came out of America, but a very pleasent surprise. If you like bitters, you’ll love this one, and I think it will grow tremendously in the next few years. May rival Boulevard in Kansas City as largest Micro-Brewery in the country soon. Give this one a try. SudsMcDuff (1703), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA
