Plain malty aroma with not much of a hops note. A bit like cider. Flavor is malty, slightly sweet, very little hops and moderate to slightly thin feel. Very littel bitterness at the end. A pleasant sweet woody flavor as a trailer. KAggie97 (2480), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2005 Doesn’t smell or look like much, but it tastes like alot. The hops are the front man in this band, and they have a very "outdoorsy" taste to them, sort of a combination of grass and flowers. Sounds disgusting, but it isn’t. I guess my description is the image that popped into my head upon my first taste. Woud make a good session beer if not for the higher-than-normal alcohol content. Good beer. jzzbassman (850), New Albany, Mississippi, USA

Aroma of toffee, alcohol, apricot, some wood shavings. Nice body and a clean fruity and caramel flavor. Slightly bitter finish. Kind of uninteresting. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA

Rerate: I don’t know what I was thinking before. This is one of the best ESB’s I have had. One of the most balanced beers I have had. Excellent with steak. frylock (1026), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 30, 2005 Pours a very deep amber/lite brown with a lite creamy head. Bubblegum esters with a slight grassy hoppiness. Fairly sugary thick body. Very little in the way of hops in the flavor. Just a slight drying bitterness but not very. Abounds with one pound of EKG per barrel? I would double it and call me. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 20, 2005 Burnt copper color supporting a pretty sturdy white head. Sweet aroma of toffee, almonds and malt. More hops in the flavor than I expected given the lack of them in the aroma but they were welcome and pleasantly bitter. Consistently aggressive but dry finish with more toffee at the end. Very nice beer.
