Cloudy orange color. What lacing you can create on your own sticks well. Nice aroma. Sweet and earthy. Palate is semi-thick and smooth, goes down well. Not as bitter as I was expecting. A good, solid, whole and tasty bodied beer. Light, yep, light bittered and sweet, but not overdone. This was a good buy. VitaminR (438), Colorado, USA

Mild sweetness, with subtle hops, REALLY well-balanced. Nice carbonation, full mouth feel, with a nice biscuit finish. Really nicely put together beer. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA

Flavor is less forward than many of this type. Sweet roasted malts with nice hop bitterness, dry finish.
One of my favorite Northwest ESB’s. Someday I will do a side-by-side with the Deschutes version. Am looking forward to trying this on tap in Portland. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA

Aroma is toasted caramel, fruity hops and some red apple esters. Well balanced taste with earthy hop bitterness, caramel maltiness and a note of ripe pear midway through. A tasty American ESB.
