Aroma has a bit of must, horse-blanket, dryness, spices, pear and apple. Taste is light brett, dry apple, dried fruits and wine. Light bubbles and a creamy mouthfeel. Low residual sweetness. With the brett in the bottle I sampled, it seems more like a strong Orval clone than a triple to me. Ughsmash (4072), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Bomber. Poured slightly hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up sour lemon zest and oaky notes with lesser green vinous character.. honeyed pale malt beneath.. warm and bright overall impression. The flavor opened with tart lemon, white pepper, and increasing oak that led pale malts and a pinch of honey to the middle.. vanilla, cloves, and banana were laced throughout.. finished like it started, but with more residual sugars than anticipated.. not bad, but far from great for the style. Medium-plus bodied and rather thick on the palate.. low-ish carbonation.. warm finish.. near-refreshing, but too thick in the end.
