Commercial Description:
A refreshing extra pale ale, Haymaker features a distinct blend of four malts and three varieties of hops that create a slightly complex ale with a light body and a crisp finish. Its alcohol by volume of 5.3% complements the low bitterness - 15 bittering units - and original gravity of 12.8 degrees Plato. Bright golden in color, it can best be described as "sunshine in a glass."

12oz bottle. 4 Malts, 3 Hops. Sunshine in a glass. Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Rooster on the label. Light orange pour. Aroma of citrus and honey. Sweet and grapefruit. Flavor is a sweet grapefruit with a mouthful of cereal. Yum, corn flakes with grapefruit juice. Medium- light bodied. I like it a lot! Finishes with a sharp, crisp citrus rind bitterness. Very nice.

Appearance: Pours out a slightly hazy, orange-yellow body with a small, short-lived, white head. Saying it looks like "Sunshine in a Glass" may be overdoing it, but it does look reasonably cheerful. "Reasonable Cheeriness in a Glass." There you go. Smell: Subdued aroma of barley malt with a small hint of grains along with some whiffs of spicy, faintly floral European hops. Also a small touch of citrus lurking in there. Taste: Starts off with light, crisp pale malts carrying with them some modest grainy tones and a mild sweetness. Hint of orange citrus character. Noble hops along with a very, very minimal amount of bitterness. Drying, lightly effervescent finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: It’s a refreshing brew for both Spring and Summer months and a fine candidate for a lawnmower beer, though, as I’m currently based in an apartment, it still makes for fine drinking whilst watching the landscape maintenance crew do their thing. This sip is for you, Guy with Leaf Blower!

12oz bottle from Lukas Liquors. Pours golden yellow with white head. Aroma pale malt and light fruits. Flavor is pale malt, light fruits, and very faint hops. A very poor example of an APA. Should be listed as a pale lager.

Bottle pours a clear very light yellow-orange. Small lively wite head that dissipates rapidly. Light grain cereal aroma. Almost pale-lagerish. Flavor is mild, weak, light malt with very littel hop presense. More like a blonde, maybe. Maybe the weakest "Pale Ale" I have ever had. Lifght clean crisp palate. Still, not bad, ust lacking in everything. But equally, so I guess it is fairly balanced.

A lot darker pour than I was expecting. Nose is crisp and hoppy, really nice. Taste is heavier on hay/grass and yeast than I was expecting. Decent fruity hops initially, but pretty watery to finish. Solid quenching "camp beer" - nothing terribly unique.

Tap, pours clear yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is very yeast driven with banana and clove coming out. flavor is all yeast and a little malt, not what I want in a pale ale.

2009 Bottle - Pours c;ear yellow with a vanishing white head...aroma is crisp hop florals, biscuit and lemon...flavour is oddly bitter, grainy, doughy malt...no lingering bitterness, a bit off...not my thing...
