| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Bottle from bottletrek. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick off white head. Very nice aroma of grapefruit, loads of other citrus, and some pine. Very good flavor. The only bad thing was I just had the AleSmith Summer IPA which was better. But this is still a very good beer. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2008 22oz from Bottletrek. A nice, cloudy orange pour - not so much from anything yeasty as from just general liveliness I guess. Modest head and carbonation. The nose might be the best thing about this brew. For all the times I’ve said an IPA smells grapefruity, jack, this is some serious grapefruit here. Good thing I love grapefruit. Very crisp tasting, with slight dry (green tea?) notes in the finish. Refreshing, with very little trace of the alcohol in there. If anything, it’s a little thin and insubstantial for such a big-smelling and fairly flavorful beer. But I enjoyed the hell out of this. ilovedarkbeer (1365), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a hazy grayish orange color with a small bone colored rocky head. Nose is green granny smith apples, and a sort of artificial fruit roll up smell, with a bit of hops. Taste is woody, dusty dry fresh ground malt, and citrus, and a bit of caramel. The bitterness is not profound and nothing really shines in this beer. Aroma is musky/moldy with some hops, spices, and oranges (remind me a bit of Ale to the Chief). Taste is caramelly with light hops in the background (could not taste 100 IBUs). Light carbonation. Pours a cloudy amber with off-white head. Aroma has a nice citrisy smell..Flavor has a nice malty taste with some hoppy flavor and bitter. Mouthfeel is light-medium body, high carbonation. Over all, pretty good beer....
