It is more transparent and lighter in color than most IPAs. Floral hoppy aroma. Nice taste but overly drying finish. Shockingly light body and flavor for an IPA. Taste is nice, finish is soapy, smell is subtle, look is average. lingham8 (2), California, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Lighter hew than most IPA’s with a thin white head. Great nose for hops, with crisp pine, sweet citrus, and hint of malt. The palate is at least equal in this regard, and is extremely smooth without compromising bitterness. It may lack the zip that some hopheads prefer, but it is well balanced, surprisingly complex, and damn good. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Honey colored pour with a bright white head. Light looking for an IPA. Smell is nicely hopped, and a bit soapy. Taste is a balanced sweet/hop flavor with a very smooth, easy drinking body about it. Could be a touch richer and more boldly flavored, I thought as it was a bit mild. Sort of like a "light IPA" I thought, but decent. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Had this beer on 5/2/1998. Color is a hazy pale gold, you can see the yeast they added in just before bottling floating around in it. Carbonation is good but head is not. The aroma has a nice sweet scent that is the combination of fresh hops and malt. Taste is well balanced with a good bitter end. It starts off with a medium crisp body that goes down smooth yet cool. As the finish begins, it comes on with a light malt taste and very good bitterness. This is all capped off with a light floral hop taste that has a full citrus flavor to it. Its not the best pale ale I’ve had but it’s up there. bryandhargrave (165), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Bottled. Poured a slightly-hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma was very enjoyable.. soft bready sweetness surrounded by pine and grapefruity hoppage.. came across as very well-blended. Sweet caramel and bready notes at the flavor’s core with moderate grapefruit, orange, and piney bitterness surrounding.. somewhat mild for an IPA and very well executed. Medium-bodied or a hair less with a pleasant lingering pine and citrus bitterness at the finish. Enjoyed it!
