| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Doesn’t have the hop bite that I like in my IPA’s, and doesn’t have a typical IPA flavor either. Hops just aren’t there like they should be. As a pale ale, this brew would get much higher ratings from me, but as an IPA, it just doesn’t have enough goping for it. Odd, but not bad, roasted aroma, very uncharacteristic of the style, agian, higher ratings would have been given if it weren’t for the style. mreusch (734), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Bottle, pours a hazy golden/orange color with minimal white head. Hoppy fruit aroma with presence of grapefruit and other citrus; maybe just a touch of pine. Not nearly as fragrant as expected; not bad, but overall a middle of the road IPA. It’s everything an IPA should be. Great nose and great color. Tried this as a 6 oz. sample at a small bar in Boise, Idaho. You get to choose 8 samples to get on a tray and this is the one the really made me smile. I kept going back to it and it really stood out. I could drink it any time. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Five hops is at least two kinds of hops too many. Some Cascade and Chinook, providing some citrus / orange / grapefruit and hint of pine. Other hops provide a hint of floral and some bitter finish. Some malt, some this, some that ... no clear focus, no clear mental image after a few seconds. Enjoyable, sure, worked better with barbecue than lone star, but simply nothing special as an IPA. jackbocracken (36), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2006 Clean, crisp, captures the IPA style quite well. Heavy on the floral flavors, a bit light on body, but enough malt that it’s not astringent. I like it. kwoeltje (1321), Manchester, Missouri, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Bottle. Hazy sunset orange pour. Aroma of hops is big, though tasted is a bit more muted than I would have expected. Good solid IPA. StephenWade (28), Hoover, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Oct 26, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy honey color, small white head. Smell: remeniscent of hot, homemade apple pie. Yet still smells like a beer. Very spicey aroma. Taste: a different sensation on every part of the palate. Well-rounded, with nice, biting hops at the end. A little more body on the front of the palate would make add a point to this beer, but overall, very enjoyable.
