I first had this on draft at the Bridgeport brewery and was blown away. At that point I became a hop-head. Bottle conditioned and unfiltered this is Bridgeport’s showcase beer. Not overly sweet and the right amount of dryness to complement the bitterness of this American India Pale Ale. BrewEd (182), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Looks like your average IPA. Aroma is somewhat subdued - Pine, grass and hops. Bitter and refreshing IPA, but nothing special. At 5.5% ABV, it’s a nice lower alcohol alternative for hop lovers to mix in there once in a while. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2006 Pint at Taco Mac SS - Aroma of mild hops and some malt. Pours hazy gold with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor is more citrus hops than aroma with good malt in the aftertaste. Palate is sticky and tart. A good session IPA. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

Moderately hoppy taste with a dry, bitter finish. Refreshing and full bodied. scluffman (14), Excelsior, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Cloudy, orangey-gold color with a decent off-white head that takes a while to fade to a thin cover. Subdued aromas of pine needle hoppiness along with some maltiness. On the palate a sharp hoppy character to go with some pleasing citrus fruit notes. Nice level of carbonation. Very refreshing.
A solid IPA brew. Bridgeport continues to impress due to it’s excellent bang for the buck.

Aroma is that mostly of fruit (grapefruit), pretty much typical IPA faire. This IPA has a good amount of bitterness while still maintaining a deep fruity body. Very tasty and well balanced. Not amazingly distinctive but an excellent session IPA. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2006 Pours to coppery orange. Very unique aroma bringing to mind peppermint and cotton candy along with fairly usual hoppy distinctions. The flavor of this is sufficiently malted but strangely hopped. Whether it just didn’t have enough hops to satisfy my thirst for bitterness or just had too many varieties making appearances i don’t know, but this IPA didn’t have enough of a definitive hop character for my taste. With so many worthy IPA’s available, there’s just no reason to get this one. Grassy, piney, lemony, etc. just not enough so.
