Pours to coppery orange. Very unique aroma bringing to mind peppermint and cotton candy along with fairly usual hoppy distinctions. The flavor of this is sufficiently malted but strangely hopped. Whether it just didn’t have enough hops to satisfy my thirst for bitterness or just had too many varieties making appearances i don’t know, but this IPA didn’t have enough of a definitive hop character for my taste. With so many worthy IPA’s available, there’s just no reason to get this one. Grassy, piney, lemony, etc. just not enough so.

Draft at Mahoney’s, Tucson. Maybe this is better in a bottle, but I had a hard time drinking it. Aromas were barely there, thin indeed. Flavors were off too, lots of vegtible and some strange soapy bitter aftertaste. Did not like this one at all.

Pours a nice cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma grassy and hoppy. Flavor was not as intense as i had expected. it was very good and had a dry finish. i found my self gulping this brew down. Very good indeed.

Pours a clear slightly dark golden color. Citrus, mostly grapefruit aroma. Malt comes through a bit. Bitter taste. Not a fan of grapefruit.

12 oz bottle. Large foamy head. Hazy golden amber color. Grapefruit aroma and flavor. medium bodied. Bittersweet finish that is very well balanced and very complex. Bitter grapefruit, then orange, pear, apple, followed by some malts and vanilla, and then finally by a sweeter lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Yummy stuff. Medium hoppiness. Refreshing drink for a hot day. Oh, and pour the yeast in your glass, this beer is twice as good with it!

Aroma: Soft fruits, some citrus, floral and a low malt aroma in the background. Surprisingly restrained for a modern day west coast IPA Appearance: Golden (Orange Hues) slightly hazy with a moderate off white head Flavor: first thing that comes to mind is balance. Hop character is strong but kept in check by the malt character. Flavors go fruity character from the yeast to a slight malt sweetness right into a firm hop bitterness, with a spicy and earthy hop flavor to boot. Palate: Medium light in body, with a nice finish which is dry but does not punish the tongue. Overall: For a west-coast IPA it seems to lean towards the English style IPA with choice of hops. Make no mistake this is a fine IPA with balance as its hallmark. An IPA which begs a 2nd serving. I am not rating as high because it seemed to lack a little in the aroma

nice hop aroma for the style, nice hop taste - fruity and a good cobination of hops, nice bitterness - not overdone but better for the style than the last IPA I tried (Flying Dog). Low carbonation (bottle conditioned). Overall a pretty good drink

Draft at the Public House, Port Townsend. Gorgeous orange body with a clean white head--picture-perfect. Fruity citrus nose. Easy drinking medium body with mild carb. Nice understated malt with some more fruit and pine for the finishing hop. Beautifully made, solidly conceived and very drinkable all-day IPA.
