After extensive exposure to several of the better IPAs of late (and growing QUITE fond of the style!), this one has garnered new-found respect. This is one of the best all-around, not excessively hopped or strong IPAs out there, and is widely available at a decent price at that. Yeah the Stone’s are great, but Bridgeport is far more drinkable on a regular basis, and appeals to more of my "regular" beer drinking friends as well. This one’s DEFINITELY underrated. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 23, 2005 Hazy gold, nice white head that recedes to a fine bubbly thin layer that perists to the end of the glass. Inviting citrus and spice hop aroma. Caramel, grapefruit malt flavors do not quite balance the strong hop character in the flavor profile. Bitter finish. Pleasant and quite drinkable, but just needs a little more malt presence. Hangover (772), Atlanta, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2005 Cloudy yellow pour with a decent sized eggshell white head. Real nice, mild hoppy aroma, mostly citrus, some pine. Kind of a weak taste though, in my opinion. Grapefruit and a bready malt backbone. Nice bitter finish, however. Grapefuit lingers into the finish. Nothing spectacular, but not bad either. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2005 Pours with a nice big, slightly off-white, fluffy, head. Has a light orange body. Aroma of full malts and citrus hops. Flavor dominated by sour, bitter hops, with a weak malt balance, and a floral backround. Also detected a hint of corn. If this beer had just a wee bit more sweetness, and maltiness it would be better IMO. Also the palate is watery and aggresively carbonated. Not what I expected. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2005 Pours golden with a mostly maintained off-white head. Aroma of citrus, piney hops, and a little bit of butterscotch. Taste is flowery hops, assertive but never rising to the point of being aggressive. Medium bodied with lush carbonation and a slight oily texture lending to a creamy mouthfeel. SudsMcDuff (1711), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2005 Poured a medium gold that is a little cloudy. The mostly white head is small and tight. The aroma is classic grapefruit with some flowers and some bread crust. Everything I look for in an IPA aroma. The taste is harsh grapefruit that is almost lemon like. There is a little bit of toasty dark bread and some light black pepper spice. A decent IPA, but needs more malt balance. Received in a trade with Larry Pitonka. tikimann (3), Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 3, 2005 I really enjoy this beer, I has a nice, hoppy flavor that I happen to enjoy, and it looks nice in a tall glass.
