Poured clear reddish copper color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart fruit, malt and resin aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium tart citrus sweet flavor with a medium fruity sweet finish with a small alcohol bite of moderate duration.
Complex beer that I would share with a freind.

May 23, 2009 1999. Bottle, this was actually a sample from a cracked bottle that someone(nameless) left in the freezer. Cloudy amber pour. Aroma of honey, wood, fruit, and some alcohol. A bit of oxidation is noticeable on the nose and the tongue. Flavor is honey, fruit and some tartness. This is good. But not fabulous.

May 15, 2009 Thanks wildaho? - Pours dk orange with a small head, little carbonation...aroma is sweet caramel, hop flowers...flavour is similar, fairly straightforward, fruity, bit boozy...good stuff...

Aroma picked up some bourbon like aroma, malt, caramel, sugar and spices.
Taste, some bourbon, vanilla, caramel malts coupled with some citrus hops and a faint wood presence.Some fine tasting beer.

Apr 21, 2009 Rather sub standard for such a big beer. Really disappointed. THe nose was rather sweet. The body was medium to full. Other than that the flavour profile was minimal and I felt more than a little ripped off. Expensive malt liquor

Apr 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Rich and chewy with some fruity esters, caramel, sweet and malty with a hint of woodiness. Decent brew.

Mar 29, 2009 bottling # 12 .. ... quite upfront but smooth .. . abit thin in the mouth .. .taste is nicebut seems all over the place .. low bitterness .. "i’ve been calling her krandell" .. . really seems alcoholic, . what would age do to this pup .. . seems to bypass the throat and pipes and goes right to the stomach! .. . . ’skinny, crabby, catch ya later’ ...

Mar 3, 2009 Pours a dark reddish brown with off white head. Aroma of cherry and alcohol. Flavor was fruity with bitter finish. Alcohol was prominent in the flavor profile...may benefit from some aging. Not my favorite Barley Wine.
