| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 9, 2005 Bottle. Pours a clear medium amber color with a nice off-white head that fades slowly and leaves good lacing. Aroma is overly sweet, bordering on sickly for an APA. Decent body, fair carbonation. Overly sweet flavor that just dominates this beer. I don’t find the hops in this one at all. Should be reclassified as an Amber ale. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Bottle: Pours a cloudy gold with a fluffy white head and sticky lacing. The aromas are sweet malts. The taste is largely dominated by malts as well -- flowers, rich butter and soap. The feel is thin. For a pale ale, I wish it would have been more bitter, but not bad. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Medium is a good word for this one. Medium malt and hop aroma. Copper color body with decent head. Flavor was medium to week on the balance of malts and hop bitterness. Almost like swill beer. But man last swig tasted like an alcohol wipe uck. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 15, 2005 (12 oz bottle: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Somewhat sweet, mildly malty, a bit of caramel, but extremely light on the hops. Wow, the finish drops off fast, you have some flavor, and then poof, it’s gone. Perhaps a hint of caramel when all is said and done. Light to medium body, but that finish is really thin and watery. The nose is mildly malty, but actually maybe a little more sugary, honey sweet, caramely, rather than malty. Copper, light amber color. Smallish, off-white head fades to a few bubbly patches, and leaves some modest lacing here and there. This is a pretty boring beer to me, but not a bad intro beer for the swill crowd looking to expand into the world of micros. GMP (16), USA
